Golf Putting TipsExcellent putting skills are the key to lowering your golf score – and potentially winning the round! Many newer golfers concentrate a great deal on their long drives, not realizing that putting is about half of the game! They mistakenly search for golfing tips, when they need to be looking for golf putting tips! You can improve your putting with these golf putting tips. The key to successful putting is to relax. Try shaking out your arms a bit and stretching your neck and back before getting lined up with the ball. This will relieve some of the tension. If you are too tense, you will most likely grip the club too tightly. This can cause you to hit the ball with too much force – or even with not enough force! Try to relax. The second thing to remember is that when you pull back for your swing, keep your wrists locked. Your arms should form a perfect triangle – and that triangle should not change at all during your backswing or your upswing. Keep it locked in place. Avoid moving your head when you are ready to strike the ball. Line yourself up with the ball, and move only your head to get lined up with the flag. Your arms should move to make sure that you are lined up properly – but keep everything else still. When you are ready to take the shot, focus solely on the ball – never take your eyes off of it. If you are doing this right, you will be staring at an empty spot where the ball was before you look to see where the ball went. There are many golfer’s who mean well. They will give you tips and pointers on the course. Listen to what they say, and take their advice seriously….even trying some of it out. But remember that no two golfers’ will have the same grip, the same stance, or even the same swing. Each golfer is unique, and you simply have to keep practicing to find which golf putting tips work best for you. |
